Student
record
systems
Higher education data is unforgiving. Relentless rounds of HESA returns, OfS compliance, mean the student record systems that feed them demand precision - and the consequences of getting it wrong are real.
For over 16 years we have worked exclusively with smaller and specialist institutions: the providers running theology, architecture, business studies, counselling, environmental and vocational programmes that larger universities don't. We understand this world - its constraints, its obligations, and the fact that your IT budget and staffing don't scale with your requirements.
Also a registered IHE consultant, we bring the kind of sector-specific experience that generalist developers can't. Scroll down to see what that looks like in practice.
01. A sector we know well
From courses in theology to architecture, business masters to ecology studies, and counselling - we have spent over 16 years working with specialist and alternative providers. Small institutions with distinct identities and specific requirements. We understand the landscape, the pressures, and what good looks like at this scale. You don't have to explain yourself from scratch.

Over 16 years of experience in your back yard
02. Connected where it matters
Student record systems rarely work in isolation. We have direct experience connecting to Moodle, Inspera, URKUND, Echo360 and Celcat - bringing plagiarism checking, timetabling, VLE, and assessment into a single coherent workflow, rather than a collection of disconnected tools. In the current data world, everything with an API can talk to something else, and we do this every day. Your systems talk to each other, so your staff don't have to.

Connections to well-used external systems
03. Smarter data ingress
From JotForms to Claris Connect, we build elegant data capture that enhances or replaces manual processes. You can have data from submitted forms in your records with seconds. Our attendance recording solutions deliver the functionality of expensive dedicated platforms (like Seats) - at a fraction of the cost. We have dashboards which aggregate completed Moodle tasks or attendance for Home Office reporting or course requirements. Simple for staff, reliable for compliance.

04. Budget-conscious, technically rigorous
This sector is price-sensitive - we know that. We also know where the bear traps are located, because we've already fallen into most of them. We have been a part of the HESA software suppliers group since the very first designs for Data Futures. Your budget goes further. Your risks are known before they become problems and your in-house team isn't left exposed.

Bespoke in not the same as expensive
05. The full student journey. 6R©
Recruit Receive Record Return Report Retain. From first enquiry to alumni communications, we understand every stage of the student lifecycle - and the data obligations each one carries. We developed the 6R© framework to map the complete data lifecycle of a specialist HE institution, meaning we can extend your existing infrastructure to cover the complete journey; growth, excellence, compliance
It has shaped how we work with every client. Ask us about it.

Ask about how the 6R© framework enables data decisions
Specialist higher education is a small world with large obligations. After 16 years working exclusively within it, we understand its rhythms, its pressures, and its data requirements in a way that generalist developers simply don't.
From HESA returns to admissions workflows, attendance recording to alumni engagement: and every API connection in between. We have built, extended, and refined student record systems for institutions that cannot afford to get it wrong.
Our 6R© framework didn't come from a textbook. It came from being in the room when the problems were real and needing structure.
Our commercial expertise means we bring innovation to a sector that deserves it, not just compliance, but capability and digital transformation. Not just solutions, but genuine partnership.
If any of this resonates, we'd like to hear from you.
